File Explorer
Browse your project files directly inside the workspace with the integrated file explorer sidebar.
The File Explorer is a collapsible sidebar panel inside the workspace that provides a VSCode-style file tree for browsing local directories. It lets you navigate, create, rename, and delete files and folders without leaving the terminal.
Opening the Explorer
- Right-click on any terminal pane header inside a workspace.
- Select "Open in Explorer" from the context menu.
The sidebar opens on the left side of the workspace. It automatically detects the current working directory of your terminal session and opens to that location. You can change the root directory at any time by editing the path in the toolbar at the top of the sidebar.
Navigating the File Tree
- Click a directory to expand or collapse it.
- Click a file to select it.
- Double-click a file to open it in a new editor tab.
- Right-click any entry to access the context menu with file operations.
The tree uses lazy loading — directories are only fetched when you expand them, keeping both the UI and backend efficient even for large projects.
Creating Files and Folders
Right-click on any directory and choose "New File" or "New Folder". An inline input field appears at the target location. Type the name and press Enter to create it.
Renaming and Deleting
Right-click any file or folder and select "Rename" or "Delete". Renaming opens an inline edit field just like renaming a pane header. Deleting permanently removes the item from disk.
Copying Paths
Select "Copy Path" from the context menu to copy the full absolute path of a file or folder to your clipboard. This is useful for pasting paths into terminal commands.
Auto-Refresh
The explorer automatically watches expanded directories for file system changes. When you create, modify, or delete files from the terminal (or any external tool), the affected directory in the tree refreshes automatically within a few hundred milliseconds. You can also click the Refresh button in the toolbar to manually reload the current directory.
Resizing the Sidebar
Drag the thin vertical divider between the sidebar and the terminal panes to resize the explorer panel. Width is clamped between 180px and 600px. Your last-used width is remembered when you close and reopen the sidebar.
